In the middle of the
right side of the machine is the
now-familiar card slot, which can be used
for either PC Design Cards or an ATA PC
Card. There is no provision for reading
either 8000 or 9000 cards.
There are 6 different
ways to get designs into the MC11000 from
the outside world:
-
Designs stored in an
ATA PC Card. When first inserted in the
machine, two folders will be written on
the card. EMB holds all
embroidery designs and ORD holds
stitches. Any other folders on the card
will be ignored, and any designs in them
will be invisible. Inside the EMB folder
another folder called EmbF is
created. You may add as many other
folders as you wish. As long as they are
inside the EMB folder, you will be able
to use them for design storage.
-
Designs stored in a
USB flash drive. Flash drives are
treated exactly like ATA PC cards, as
explained above.
-
Designs on a CD-ROM,
in the optional CD-ROM drive. This
allows you to read designs from Dakota
Collectibles and other companies
directly into the machine, right from
the CD that you purchased. For designs
like Amazing Designs and Cactus Punch,
you'll have to install them into your
computer.
-
Designs stored in
your computer, sent to the machine from
Customizer 11000 or Digitizer Pro. You
can send them to the built-in memory, an
ATA card, or a flash drive.
-
Designs stored in
your computer, with the Folder Tool.
This is really cool. You first run the
tool on your computer and select a
folder to be used for documents. This
can be a high level folder, like
My Documents, that is stuffed
with folders full of designs. Once the
tool is running on your computer, you
can browse the designs on your computer
right from the machine, through the USB
cable.
-
Using the StitchLink.
For situations where it is not possible
to cable directly from the machine to
the computer, the Janome wireless
StitchLink may be used. Any operation
that works with a cable will also work
with the StitchLink.
